They are used as bomb or dope detection dogs, hunting dogs, service dogs, family pets, seeing eye dogs, and much, much more. At Sunnyview Labradors, we believe in breed- ing dogs who are not single faceted, but are capable of performing and excelling within all the capacities of the breed. We practice selective breeding for field trial, hunting, conformation, and unquestionable temperament. Through selective breeding we have basically zero instances of hip dysplasia and PRA (progressive retinal atrophy) in our dogs. All breeding stock are certified with OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) and CERF (Canine Eye Registration Foundation). Additionally, cancer, also genetic, has all but been eliminated in our bloodlines, excluding idiopathic forms. We are proud to say that our dogs, including the males, nor- mally live to be 14-16 years old, which is the age limit nature seems to have set for dogs of the Labrador size.
